IT IS OUR
FAVORITE COWGIRL

MOM

SHE IS PACKING HEAT SO YOU BETTER BEHAVE.
MOL the date on the back of the picture is 1953...
she was 4.  If you cannot do the math, I'll just say
she is older than D I R T

She loves Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream Cakes...so that
smart Dad ordred her this...yes..he calls her Ceal,
I just call her Mom!!

Everyone please feel free to enjoy a slice!!!

The decoration is new it is called Splattered Mom loves it
WTG Dad. I don't know what flavors are inside yet!!
My sis and her hubby gave Mom a subscription to Wild Bird
Magazine.  Mom loves to watch those feathery creatures and read about them!
My most talented brother in law
hand turned seam ripper (for those who don't sew)
you use it to rip out stitches that you put in the wrong place. MOL
Mom just loves how he made the little tiny dark lines around
the seam ripper..  The sharp end pulls out and fits into the pen like section when not in use.
She got one more very interesting gift that she selected...

BUT

we are going to wait until Monday to introduce you to
her....MOL
I didn't have any money to buy a gift, but Mom told me
everyday with me is a GIFT!!

THURSDAY THEME SONG: DOWNTOWN

Mom and I thank Hootin Anni for sponsoring

Last Sunday, January 1, 2012, Mom and Dad decided to take a
trip to a far and distant land, Downtown Raleigh. To check out some of the new and exciting things happening, art work, new buildings etc.  Dad worked in Downtown Raleigh for 33 years and avoids it like the plague now.
Sunday was a holiday and there were no crowds.  Mom had her camera.  She had an Aha moment and thought these will be great for Thursday Theme Song. We hope you enjoy it Downtown vocals Petula Clark

When you are alone and life is making you lonely
You can always go, downtown
When you've got worries, all the noise and the hurry
Seems to help, I know, downtown

Mom tok this picture from the end of Fayetteville Street looking
down.  She liked the shapes of the sphere and the triangle on the RBC bldg.
The lights are much brighter there
You can forget all your troubles
Forget all your cares and go
Downtown,
The structure below is one of 4 light towers in the entertainment mall.  We haven't seen them
at night but they certainly are pretty.  They are made of stainless steel with embossed oak leaves and acorns...(Raleigh is called the City of Oaks)
Downtown, things'll be great when you are Downtown,
No finer place for sure,
The peeps study this work of art for some time...they think maybe the top section is supposed to be an Eagle...

Please click on the video below, if you'd like to hear Ms. Clark sing while you look at the rest of the pictures .

Don't hang around and let your problems surround you
There are movie shows,(and museums) Downtown
Maybe you know some little place to go to
where they never close, downtown
This is the older section of our Musem of Natural Sciences

Just listen to the rhythm of a gentle bossa nova
You'll be dancing with them too
Before the night is over
Happy again,
Downtown
Maybe you'll find somebody (gorgeous Newfie Puppy) kind
To help and understand you
Somebody who is just like you
And needs a gentle hand to guide them along

So maybe I'll see you there
We can forget all our troubles
forget all our cares and go
DOWNTOWN
Chorus is repeated here

This picture was taken looking down from the older section toward the new additions

which includes this gigantic sphere which is called the Daily Planet.
The director of the Museum  says "there is nothing (that we know of) like the Daily Planet
anywhere.  Through high speed internet the Daily Planet will connect to every school in North Carolina so
children all over the State can receive a quality science experience. "

This last picture is of another piece of very orange art...
the peeps aren't sure of it's significance!!
Mom says beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

MR. PIP AND FELINE BUNNY

My sweet little friend Mr. Pip recently found out he has some serious problems with his heart. They are awaiting an appt. with a Cardiologist.
Please drop by to tell Pip and his peeps you are purring/barking for  him.  Mr. Pip has a bunny sibling and we thought is would make him smile see his picture on today's bunny post.
Big hugs and thousands of purrs.

We have two pics to show you today...
and they are quite similar.
Feline Bunny...
Christmas Bunny
Notice we both have our right high beams on.
Mom has never been able to snap a picture of our bunny
standing.  It was taken on Christmas morning...just before sunrise.
She saw the bunny in the yard standing like this and just knew he would move but he didn't. Even I think this is a cute picture.
Mom almost forgot to share this with you.  Thank goodness she had not deleted the pics on the flashy beast.

Tuesday Thank You Tale

This past Sunday I posted a very sad tale about my most favorite
chair (below) moving back to a dark dreary corner (without sunpuddles) once the Christmas tree came down!!
WELL TODAY I'M HERE TO TELL YOU A TALE
THAT BROUGHT GREAT JOY TO ME.

Mom's BFF, Ms. Kathy, commented on Sunday that it would be an excellent idea perhaps the peeps would consider putting my cat tree where the chair was sitting....
MUCH TO MY GLEE THEY LIKED THAT IDEA.
WITHIN ABOUT 5 MINUTES OF THE CAT TREE
BEING IN A NEW LOCATION, MOM TURNED AROUND
TO FIND ME..........HERE...........AT

10:30 am Monday January 2, 2012

Note the happy sway in my kitty tail!!!

FAST FORWARD
1:30 pm Monday, January 2, 2012
OMC I SEE MY SUNPUDDLES ON MY CAT TREE
I SCURRY QUICKLY TO
SETTLE DOWN FOR A LONG WINTER'S NAP
JUST AS THE SUNPUDDLES REACH MY 2ND LEVEL
I think I'll have to ask Mom to buy me some RayBans

MS. KATHY I'M SENDING YOU A GREAT BIG THANK
YOU KITTY LICK FOR THIS MOST FANTASTIC SUGGESTION.
This picture was taken from the new cat tree location too
Ms. Kathy if I can ever do anything to repay you for this most
excellent idea...just give me a holler.  I'll jet over to Arizona in two shakes of a cat's tail.
Hugs
Madi

EASY LIKE SUNDAY #1 2012

HAPPY NEW YEAR'S DAY...

No you have not seen this picture it was taken on December 29th at 3:30 pm; however, it is the same chair I've been nearly 24/7 for the last month.  MOL
I heard the peeps saying they will be finally taking the tree out of the house...and woe be unto me it means this chair will be moved back across the room to a lonely dark corner w/o sunpuddles.

FLIP

I never, ever, ever sit in this chair except during
Christmas.  It has absolutely the best sunpuddles for nearly 4 or 5 hours a day.

FLOP
I will surely miss this chair when it moves and will be counting the days until I can nap in it again.
